Epipen Update 28 Sep, 2018

With the current shortage of adrenaline auto-injectors (epipens) across the UK The Anaphylaxis Campain have been in contact with the Department of Health, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority, the pharmaceutical industry and other key stakeholders to raise concerns.

The statement below sets out the latest position.

"If you have concerns about your prescription we advise you should speak with your GP or pharmacists, you may wish to take this statement along with you for reference".

Some auto-injectors have been given permission by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to extend the expiry date by four months of some of the injectors.  Please refer to the full statement to find out if your epipen has been extended.

Remember do not throw away your expired auto-injector before ordering a new one and do not use if the liquid is cloudy.
